Caracol is Spanish for seashells. Coffee beans with the name Caracoliyo outwardly resemble this type of marine life, differing from traditional Arabica only in a small size. This variety grows in both the Eastern and Central highlands of Cuba. Despite its size, this type of coffee has a unique taste with a persistent chocolate aroma, is notable for its special softness and sustained acidity. Such an unusual combination of traditional Arabica beans with Caracolillo beans was invented several years ago by the tasters of the Qubita factory and has no analogues in the world. Like all types of Cuban coffee, Caracolillo is produced on the basis of centuries-old traditions of growing, harvesting, processing and roasting coffee beans with the introduction of the most modern technologies into the production process.
